Favorite moment: The "Crystal Head" made another appearance to inaugurate those who missed the first round! The film itself hit that "corner" of the SIFS box offering obscurity and recognizable actors, sprinkled with some dated hilarity. A lost Marty Scorsese dark comedy with a little "Chong and Cheech" thrown in… Gold!
Pre-screening hints
- to James Joyce's "Ulysses" character Leopold Bloom in a postmodern setting. Much like the Coen Brothers' efforts in 'O Brother Where Art Thou' (and Homer's Odyssey comparison) - the famous director of our film tonight drew recognition for his Ulysses tie-in... which, coincidentally, Ulysses latinised means "Odysseus", the hero of Homer's tale. So, there's a little history in literature for you all...
